Rocket Hub thrives on entrepreneurs. And we want to help you connect with each other. In the Spotlight Series we highlight Rocket Hub members and their businesses. Read, learn and get in touch with Craig Tucker of Tucknologies.

Craig has spent two decades working in media technology. As a producer, director and developer. Craig attended Michigan State University where he obtained a degree in Telecommunications, Information Science and Media. After graduation, Craig put his tech skills to the test and helped build UZoom Media, a marketing and social media firm. There, and on his other projects, he honed his skills in the creative production, web development and online marketing fields. In 2012 Craig teamed up with his colleague Benoit Bonnet from Michigan State to launch the startup web design and software development company of his dreams; Tucknologies.

“EFactor has been a great way for us to approach investment and grow our company!”

What’s unique about his company is that Tucknologies offers creative direction on film, video, radio/TV as well as print. In a short time, the company has gained popularity due to some high profile projects including a music video for Nelly Furtado’s ‘Do it’ which debuted at #1 on MTV’s TRL.

Tucknologies has earned six awards from the Michigan Association of Broadcaster’s Awards, including Best Marketing, Community Involvement, Station of the Year and Creative Services Director. Tucker has produced a number of television shows. From specials, to live sport broadcasts and commercials. He has worked with Wynton Marsalis, AC/DC and the Eminem/D12 show to name a few.

Craig says his success has been twofold because he has not only been successful in media production, but also in software and application development. Tucknologies for example has launched a new app calle ‘Thumb Tied’ for Android that shuts off your text and email messaging so you’re not distracted while you’re driving. And Craig is also proud of “The Public Tree of Life” website, an interface system for the National Science Foundation.

When it comes to venture obstacles, Tucker thinks one of the biggest challenges facing entrepreneurs is locating funding partners. Craig says it’s helpful to have a networking website for entrepreneurs like EFactor, where he has found much value while growing his company.
