“There is nothing quite like the thrill of having an idea, developing the concept and then converting it to reality.” This is certainly the line of thinking that has led Ralf Rainer von Albedhyll, a serial entrepreneur, to launch ten companies since 1982.

While some flourished, like which sold over a million promotional watches a year at its most popular, others moved in unexpected directions. Like iTime, which online watch configurator was also adopted by Ice Watch and popularized by them instead of iTime. His other innovations Virtual Samples, eCatalog on CD and the cool fish finder watch had a notable impact on the watch industry. After twenty years, in the true spirit of entrepreneurship, Ralf decided to change directions and he jumped into the world of technology. His latest big venture was inspired by a conversation he had with a medical cannabis patient about the dispensary checkin system, which Ralf found extremely complicated and not secure.

“There is nothing quite like the thrill of having an idea, developing the concept, and then converting it to reality.”

This prompted him to go through the process and create a more simplified but reliable method which ensures patient confidentiality. What he created is a medical card device that simplifies check ins for patients and dispensaries, as well as software that benefits all parties by retrieving medical cannabis records and prescriptions in a matter of seconds. A few short months after his conversation at that party, NextRX was born in April of 2012.

Ralf Rainer would say the best thing about being an entrepreneur is having the opportunity to break ground in new industries. He cites Bill Gates who saw an opportunity during a time when technology was just awakening; Ralf finds himself in a similar place during a time when the cannabis industry is just gaining momentum.

Ralf’s latest project is called the RXPass a neatly packaged application of NextRX which he created to set a higher standard in the industry. It provides a one minute registration and five second patient check in. While the speed and convenience are great, patient record security is at the heart of the system. NextRX has launched an equity campaign on Ralf says, this is an exciting time for entrepreneurs.
